• What does freedom mean to you

Freedom day signifies the democracy of our country.  It is the opportunity to express oneself regardless of race. 27 years ago, this was demonstrated with the first democratic election. This day is a day of unity, diversity and appreciation for those that fought for us, to allow us to cast our vote.

• How has free education changed your life.

I believe that knowledge and experience cannot be stolen from an individual. Free education, has motivated me to further my studies. I am currently completing  my PhD and  would not have been able to without the help and support of student funding services. There are many learners that don’t know how to access means of receiving bursary awards. My advice is to educate yourself, google it, network, and ask questions.
